People have different ways of learning. I have a different way of studying for all my classes. I also learn differently for different things. In 8th grade, I took an elective class, called “Getting Ready for OHS.” In that class, we learned the different ways and methods to take notes and study. If I hadn't taken that class, I would have been very unorganized in high school.
When I first started 9th grade, I never had a problem taking notes. However, my study habits were poor. I knew this because it showed in my test grades. In 10th grade, my test grades were better, but I still felt as if my studying could improve. Now that I am a junior, I've learned the best studying method. I've learned that distributed practice is the best learning method and will help me remember what I am studying better.
I have different learning styles for each of my classes. In my English classes, I’m more of a verbal learner. I learn best with written or spoken words. I’m also more of a solitary learner. When it comes to English classes and reading I prefer to work independently. In my math classes, I like to work with other people in groups. It makes learning easier and more enjoyable. In my world language classes, I’m more of a visual and aural learner. Pictures and music work best when learning different languages. Now that I know which styles of learning work best for me, studying has become less of an issue, and it's a lot easier than before. What learning style help you learn the most?
